I know I'm not a frequent poster or anything, but I was managing pretty well with one post a week. Then this amazing time warp happened. If I could describe it better, I'd use it in a story. As it is, I'm just left stunned, disoriented, and a good bit lost :p.

So, instead of something particularly interesting ;), I thought I'd just give a quick summary of March and where I stand now to maybe uncover some of that missing time.
Writing:

On Heart of the Crystal, I've come up with what I consider the final query letter. A little buff and polish and it should be out the door.

I'm in the middle of a short story that I seemed to have dropped unintentionally so I need to pick that one up as soon as I get some breathing space especially since it's intended for a mid-April anthology.

March is time of March Madness on Forward Motion, a one week challenge to go for anywhere between 7k and 40k in just 7 days. Despite visiting friends and a volunteer day at my kid's school, it looks like I'll finally achieve my 35k, something I failed miserably at last year. I also outlined this same story for the challenge. Only trouble is that I ran out of time. I'm running with a partial outline, something I don't prefer, but didn't really have much choice in the matter, my time being what it is these days. -- Final update on March Madness is 35,321 words and a good solid start on this book.

Editing:

I started Key That Must this month, a 98k fantasy novel, and am over 2/3rds done. I had hoped to finish in March, but that vanishing month got me. Still, I'm enjoying the story and believe it hangs together. We'll see when my novel crit group gets hold of it ;).

I did manage a little bit of short story editing, but not the crucial stuff with mid-April deadlines.

Critting:

Finished critting one novel and got started on the next. I've fallen down on my short story crits, but I've been focusing on the novels for my new novel crit group. I haven't figured out the balance here yet.

Other:

I took a six-day vacation and went out of town to a whirlwind visit with family and friends. No work performed there at all except for giving my father the crit of his 2006 NaNo (only fair since I put him up to it) and of his academic paper on a unique approach to teaching history. Talk about a mental discombobulation ;).

Submissions:

I'm putting this one last because it's a biggie. After starting the year off with a bang, somehow I managed absolutely no submissions in March. I'm not quite clear how this happened except that the ones on the stack to go out are all postal and I tend to flinch from the printing process (especially since my laser printer has been banished from my study since it makes the lights flicker :p). I'm thinking of a quick send off for a couple emailed agent queries and at least one short story on Saturday to make my three sub minimum, but am still stunned that it slipped me by.

So anyway, does this help explain how my blogging dropped off the face of the planet? Part of it was just sheer business, and part was working on so many things at the same time I haven't had the focus to pull out aspects to mention on the blog. I'll try to drop something in about Seeing Is Believing (my new novel thanks to March Madness), and Key deserves a post or two, though on what aspect I remain unsure.

Thanks for listening :).

Drop a note in the comments if any particular project (or process step) interests you and maybe I'll have something to say :).
