Okay, no more moaning. I've realized the problem and I'm working to fix it. I'm not going all that much faster, but I'm happier with the result. The most terrifying thing about this, besides the prospect of retyping 114k, is that I'll have to redo a good portion of the beginning again :p.

So what's this grand plan/realization you wonder? It's simply that my writing has advanced enough, and the changes that I need to do to repair this novel are significant enough, that editing isn't going to work. Though there will be portions where I can key in almost exactly what was in the previous draft, for a good bit, I'll be writing new words that either introduce new concepts or just restate what the first draft had in more effective, efficient language.

I'm not thrilled about this concept, but on the other hand, I'm finally reaching progress that, though slow, I can be proud of :).

And stats (Note since I'm in the middle of a chapter, while the stats for the scenes are correct, the counts and averages are off.):
94 scenes
16 complete - 17% of the novel
78 Scenes remain
91346 Remaining word count
110327 Estimated length - with an average of 1186 words per scene.
18981 Current Total

And a sign of my exhaustion? I tried to put this in the wrong blog :p.

Good for you realizing what needs to be done and being brave enough to do it.

I'm on the same thing with Joey -- 95K that almost all turns out to be preliminary. So we can moan together...

Hugs, Mar. But I'm sure it's going to be stunning when you're done.
