Jumping back in :).

After a long break to finish off several other responsibilities, it took me a bit to get back into writing this book. The 80+ temperatures and muggy day didn't help either ;). Still, I ended up with two scenes that I like a lot and almost 4k today alone. In my original outline, moon woman, as Wardah calls her, had a biggish role. Then, I fine tuned the outline and she became a footnote. Well, she's crept her way back in again and it will be interesting how she leaves it. Oh! Just had a neat idea for it ;).

Sounds like a productive day! And hi again. I went and added you to my friend's list if you don't mind. I miss you around the old W.O. watering hole but I know you've been busy setting up the new chat. Thank you for all the trouble you're taking, too! I hope this client works out well so you and zette don't have to fuss with it for a long, long time.

How are the boys? Beth just started school and is having a blast!

And thanks. I have no problem with you adding me. I haven't had time to look at my friends page in so long that it's probably overloaded with new content, but I know the system works well for others :).

Regarding chat, I tend to go in phases. When I'm not getting anything done, I cut back on chat, sometimes even when it would have helped :p. I'm going to try again with the new chat to be in there more :).

Sean is actually loving Junior High :D. Jacob though is still slogging through though he likes his teacher as do I. Glad Beth's having fun :).

Okay, now I understand why you're enjoying What You See so much :p. ALL my characters have a mind of their own. But better than a mind of her own, she has a PLOT POINT! And it got even trickier today though it's costing me another scene. I had so hoped for a 90k-100k novel this time but I'm not even half way and it's already up there.

Maybe, but that's why I've gone almost completely electronic. My edit pile was out to bury me so deep not even a saint bernard carrying hot chocolate could find me :).

Hot chocolate spilled on the paper mires you in so deep you'll never get out anyway. On the other hand, if it gets on the keyboard, you're really in trouble!

Tell me about it. It doesn't even have to be hot chocolate to put me in a tizzy. My cat knocked over a glass of water that took out both my keyboard and mouse...thankfully only a temporary loss as extensive cleaning and a day or so to dry brought them back, but my stress level went through the roof :p. If he wasn't so cute, I'd have strangled the little beast.

But, even with keyboard and mouse disabled, my to edit pile didn't get ruined...or go away either :p.

But you don't really want it to go away, either. Diminish, perhaps, but if it were ever completely gone, that would probably indicate a decrease in creativity -- not good.

I understand they make skins you can put over your keyboard just to help prevent such accidents. Haven't gotten one myself because I like the feel of keys beneath my fingers, but it's an idea if your cats are causing problems. (My cats know better than to get up by my computer. Now if only I could break my tea habit, as well as my eating-lunch-at-the-computer habit. :) )

Only too true. I wouldn't want it to go away. What I really want is for it to be in constant motion. Thing added to the bottom and things sent over the wire...I'm still working on that.

With regards to the cat, it was a one time thing and he's grown to big to hang out on my crowded desk anyway. I have drinks at my desk, but I'm normally VERY careful with them. I only eat almonds and M&M at my desk, cause they don't muck with the keys. Though a skin sounds good, I have arm problems and anything extra between me and the keys is a bad idea. I even have to keep my nails short ;).
