Too Busy for Words :p

I wish I had great news and great progress, but the fact of the matter is that life has gotten the best of me. My energy is drained so every word comes with a struggle which is horribly frustrating because I know the problem is with me not the story. I'd set aside today and tomorrow to get my 7k goal and I achieved around 2700 which isn't all that bad, but not as much as I'd hoped for. Oh, and being me, I'd hoped for 15k rather than just 7k ;).

That said, some of the sub plots have started to fall into place. She's been warned by the slave minder not to make eyes at the master's son but doesn't know why until she realizes he's been watching her. It gets more complicated when they start treating her as more of a friend than a slave, but we're in her first week of slavedom and she's learned her word means nothing, she has no name and she has to prove herself over and over again. That and the next kicker is that she's not allowed to go to the temple to pray for Diggory. The only time slaves can go is to weigh souls. See how uplifting and positive this book is? Got another very short flashback of Diggory though. He was a decent guy if a little clueless about what a real wife should do.

Give yourself, Mar -- you're making really good progress on a difficult story, at a difficult family time, when you were pretty tired to start with...

Of course I it's no use telling you this but sometimes I have this compulsion to defend those who can't defend themselves :)

You know, it's one of those *benefits* to being your own boss. I don't have to cut myself any slack cause I know I *should* be able to do it :).

But you're right. With me as my own boss, there's no one to defend me...from myself :).

Look at it this way. Would you work for a boss who treated somebody the way you treat yourself? Especially for no pay?
