Progressing Slowly But Surely

Made some good progress with the rest of the 48 hr marathon for a total of 10k and change. Then, managed to have a chaotic week and just barely managed 6501 from Sunday-Saturday. It's below my goal of 7k per week, but I'm making good progress. Wardah's getting two very different impressions of Talib's desires between the slave minder and Talib's sister.

And looking at the stats below, odd how the percentage doesn't seem to change no matter how much I write :p.

And stats:

104173 Estimated length - with an average of 1389 words per scene.

I'm at the point of expanding scenes and love your way of keeping track of progress! *steals*

If the estimated length didn't keep creeping up, that percentage would increase, you know. :D

Enjoy it. I'm completely lazy...I have my outline in a spreadsheet and it does all the work for me. I really should update the version on my webpage, but I do offer an early version if you want to check it out :).

Naw? Really? You don't say? ;)

But here's the thing...if the story is interesting, it might sell. If the story is 90k, no one's gonna buy it for that reason even if it is the length sweet spot.

Or at least, that's what I keep telling myself cause none of this is filler. It's layers upon layers of events that the reader won't necessarily realize are all intertwined until the very end.

See, I write with a strict outline...as a pure organic. And I swear it doesn't feel contradictory at all :D.

LOL! True enough. I have this terribly fear of being left with nothing to do. I don't handle "quiet time" well and can't even sit around reading for long unless the book completely absorbs me. You think a two-year-old has a short attention span? Those kidlets have nothing on me :D.

Nothing left to do? Who has 60 short stories to either edit and submit or trunk for good? And how many novel ideas do you have that haven't seen the light of day yet because you haven't had time for them? And then there's Vision and site work for FM -- and I know there are at least a couple pages that you haven't gotten to because you have to dive into the code, and that would take too much time. And the backlog on your reading. And, and, and . . . nothing left to do?

I didn't say it was sane or rational, I said it was what it was :D. And besides, I'd do ANYTHING to avoid that nasty edit pile...she says while answering this post instead of actually editing the short story she's been staring at.

And I've been working on a meme *somebody* passed along to me rather than tackle that editing project of mine. Guess I should be careful about throwing those stones, hmmm?
